Do you love your job? Spoiler: Probably not!

Forget ‘love’. Do you even like your job?
Depending on which poll you consult, somewhere between 50-85% of people say ‘No.’
That’s wild.
There are plenty of perfectly fine reasons why someone might stay in a job they dislike: financial pressures, lack of options, gaining experience to get a better job, etc. Not everyone can have their dream job. That’s life.
But can you have your dream job?
If you’re thinking ‘No’…
Why not?
My mission is to help people zoom out, examine their lives and careers, and give themselves the best chance to find work they love that supports the lifestyle they want.
I acknowledge the tremendous privilege inherent in seeking fulfillment from our careers. There are millions who will never have such an opportunity. And yet, so many of us blessed with a vast wealth of options for our employment are choosing to be miserable, doing jobs we dislike.
Why?
The mortgage? Familial obligations? Because ‘that’s just what you do’? Uh… reasons? When was the last time you paused, stepped out of the rushing stream of your daily routine, and really thought about how you’re spending 1/3 or more of your waking life?
Must you actually hang onto the job you hate?
What do you really want to be doing?
If you could work on anything, with no constraints, what would you choose?
I hope you will start asking yourself these questions. There are no right answers, no answers too absurd or impractical to consider. Just take a little step out of your daily grind and give them a good think.
